We’re Emily and Kelly, and we’re so happy you’re here. After a mutual friend connected us for a podcast interview a few years ago, we met up in-person for dinner when we crossed paths in the same city a couple months later, and it unexpectedly turned into an incredible first date that is still going today.

When we first met, Emily (a Canadian) was living in her home country a couple hours south of Toronto. Kelly was living in Asheville with his two amazing boys, and in our time together we’ve navigated moving countries, immigration, blending a family, running multiple businesses (including one together) and a natural disaster. It’s been a wild ride and there have been a lot of challenges amongst the joyful moments and deep love.

What we truly believe is that challenges and conflicts can forge and grow us as much (or more) than love alone. Because love is the gift, but it won’t be enough without the relational skills to navigate the inevitable choppy waters life will through at you as a couple along the way in various seasons.

This is why we created Love in Practice: because devotion to love is something that has to be practiced every single day.
